摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a functional metal oxide material, a ceramic electronic component, and a multilayer ceramic capacitor which have a small variation in a ceramic structure after sintering and a small variation in electric characteristics.SOLUTION: There is provided a manufacturing method of a functional metal oxide material which finally contains at least silicon as an accessory component by 0.2 to 5.0 pts.mol to 100 pts.mol of a main constituent metal element, and the method comprises: a process of crushing and pulverizing a raw material of the functional metal oxide material by cobble stones having silicon nitride as a main component; and a sintering process in which silicon nitride derived from cobble stones is transformed into silicon oxide by oxidation reaction. The metal oxide material has a perovskite type or a spinel type structure. A main component of the functional metal oxide material is barium titanate, quantity of Zr and quantity of Ba contained in the functional metal oxide material due to addition or contamination is severally 0.0 to 0.3 pts.mol for Ti100 pts.mol of barium titanate.
