<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device which can improve the cooling effect while avoiding the increase in size of the cooling device.SOLUTION: A cooling device includes: belt transporters 30A to 30D which are brought into contact with front and rear surfaces of a recording medium P to hold and transport the recording medium P; and a plurality of cooling members 32A and 32B for cooling the recording medium P. The plurality of cooling members 32A and 32B are brought into contact with a surface of the recording medium P opposite to a surface with which each of the belt transporters 30A to 30D is brought into contact. The cooling members 32A and 32B are disposed so that a temperature of one of front and rear surfaces of the recording medium P is made lower than that of the other by the cooling member 32A located on the upstream side in a recording medium transport direction, a temperature of the other of front and rear surfaces of the recording medium P is made lower than that of the one by the subsequent cooling member 32B, and the temperature of the other reduced by the subsequent cooling member 32B is lower than the temperature of the one when cooling with the cooling member 32A located on the upstream side in the recording medium transport direction is completed.</p> |
