<p>A dump valve 1 for controlling a supply of pressurised fluid to a hydraulic actuator, having a supply port 60, an actuator port 10p leading to the actuator, an exhaust port 7u, a control member 50 and a pilot port 20p for supplying a control fluid to the control member. The control member shuttles between the supply and vent positions by a pressure differential between the actuator and pilot ports, which are spaced apart. The pilot/actuator pressure differential allows high pressure activation to operate the dump valve, which can therefore operate quickly. The control member is biased toward a vent position and the fluid pressure differential between the pilot port and the actuator port controls is balanced to control the movement of the control member in the housing.</p> |
