The invention provides a handrail inspection device for a passenger conveyor, which comprises an X-ray irradiator (2) for irradiating X rays on ring-shaped handrails (1) equipped with a plurality of anti-tension bodies; a light receiver (3) for receiving the X rays; a camera (5) for detecting the X-rays as images; an image processor (6) for detecting the images obtained by the camera and determining whether the anti-tension bodies of the handrails are abnormal or not; a pair of machine boxes (7a,7b) for accommodating the X-ray irradiator, the inspected part of the handrails, the light receiver and the camera; and a closed part. Therefore, X rays generated by the X-ray irradiator are prevented from leaking to the outside. |
