Catalyst of base-catalyzed reactions, process of its preparation and its use

The catalyst of base-catalyzed reactions can be prepared by chemisorption of an organic base on a solid acid carrier, whereby the chemisorption means impregnation of the solid acid carrier by an alcoholic solution of the organic base for a period of about 1 to about 10 hours at a temperature ranging up to 30 degC. The organic base is preferably represented by at least one substance being selected from the group consisting of alkali amines with a boiling point up to 200 degC and/or quaternary ammonium hydroxides. The solid acid carrier of the catalyst is preferably represented by silicagel, diatomaceous earth, acid-washed inorganic oxides and acid cation exchange resins. The catalyst of the present invention can be used for transesterification of a substrate based on triglycerides, particularly fats and oils.
