A method and an apparatus for compacting waste containers comprising a seat (10) provided with a support assembly (18,19) for supporting the waste object (11) to be compacted; a push member (12) being moveable inside the seat for compacting in use of the apparatus the waste container against an end wall (13',16') of the seat (10). Protuberances (110) can be applied to the push member (12) and an end wall (13) of the seat for producing depressions (119) in the compacted container (11') so that the compacted container does not loose the compacted condition once pressure applied by the push member (12) is removed. |
