PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for applying a process liquid for an inkjet printer which can perform proper processing by suppressing a slack of a long recording media in a rear side of a unit for applying process liquid.SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a recording media transporting means 111, a process liquid applying roller 23, a pressing roller 24 for transferring the process liquid to a recording media W, a transport speed data obtaining means 52 for obtaining transport speed data of the recording media transporting means 111, and an applying roller-drive controlling part for controlling the peripheral speed of the applying roller 23 making it be slower than the transport speed of the recording media W while transporting the recording media W. When the peripheral speed of the applying roller 23 controlled by the applying roller-drive controlling part becomes higher than an average rotary speed thereof, the pressing roller 24 is pressed to the applying roller 23 to transfer the process liquid to the recording media W. |
