PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide newsprint paper that is bulky, high in tensile strength, white paper opacity and printing opacity, excellent in printability, and suitably usable for high-speed offset printing in spite of having a high blending ratio of waste paper pulp and a low basis weight.SOLUTION: The newsprint paper contains 90 mass% or more of waste paper pulp with respect to whole pulp and has a basis weight of 35 g/mor more and 43 g/mor less. When the degree of screening (%) of disintegrated pulp obtained by disintegration according to JIS-P8220(1998) "pulp-disintegrating method" is measured by setting the opening of screen mesh of a first tank to 710 μm, the opening of screen mesh of a second tank to 355 μm, the opening of screen mesh of a third tank to 180 μm, and the opening of screen mesh of a fourth tank to 106 μm according to JIS-P8207(2009) "pulp-screening test method", the rate of residue in the first tank (C) is 20% or less and the rate of residue in the second tank (C) is 20% or more. |
