PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent abnormal crack which obliquely develops from starting position of the crack when cutting a magnet body.SOLUTION: A cutting method for manufacturing a magnet piece 31 for constituting a field pole magnet body 80 arranged to a rotary electric machine A by cutting a permanent magnet body 30, comprises the steps of: transferring the magnet body 30 having a fragile part 33 on an undersurface along a planned cutting position 73 to a position where the fragile part 33 is arranged between two supporting points 71, 72 in a state where the magnet body is supported from underneath by the supporting points 71, 72; and pressing the magnet body 30 downward from above the fragile part 33 between both the supporting points 71, 72, so that the magnet body 30 is cut into the cutoff magnet body 30 and the magnet piece 31 which is smaller than the cutoff magnet body. A position to press the magnet body 30 is shifted from the fragile part 33 to the cutoff magnet body 30. |
