<p>A spherical plain bearing assembly comprises a ball (14) and an outer race (12) slidably and rotatably engaged with each other, a ring (50, 150) slidably located in one of the ball (14) and the outer race (12), and a seal (30) extending between the ring and the other of the ball and the outer race. The ball (14) has a first groove (40) located in an outer surface thereof, and the outer race (12) has an outer surface having a second groove (42) located therein, the first and second grooves being concentrically arranged. The ring (50, 150) is slidably located in either the first (40) or second (42) groove. The seal (30) has first and second edges, the first edge being captured in the ring (50, 150) and the second edge being captured in the first (40) or second (42) groove.</p> |
