<p>Provided is a charging member which changes little in charging performance even when used over a long period. The charging member comprises a conductive support, an elastic layer, and a surface layer. The elastic layer contains particles so that at least some of the particles are exposed on the elastic layer, and thereby the surface of the elastic layer has been roughened. The particles are particles of high-molecular polyethylene. The surface of the elastic layer has been coated with the surface layer so that the surface contour of the elastic layer is reflected in the surface contour of the charging member. The surface layer comprises a polymer having a specific constituent unit.</p> |
