This measurement collection method used in a mobile communication system has steps in which: a base station transmits a configuration message, which includes parameters related to measurement of a wireless environment, to a wireless terminal; and the wireless terminal, in accordance with the parameters included in the configuration message received from the base station, measures the wireless environment, and then reports measurement data which includes the results of the measurement and position information at the time of the measurement to a network that includes the base station. The base station includes, as one parameter, unrequired area information that indicates measurement-unrequired areas for which measurement data is unrequired within the configuration message and transmits the same. The wireless terminal excludes measurement data corresponding to the measurement-unrequired areas which have been indicated by the unrequired-area information from the data to be reported to the network, or stops measurement in the measurement-unrequired areas so as to report measurement data that includes the measurement results for other than the measurement-unrequired areas to the network. |
