A hand held liquid dispensing device (1), particularly suitable for dispensing fragrance sprays, said device (1) comprising a mother unit (2) comprising a source of electrical power and a replaceable refill unit (3) comprising a cartridge holding the liquid to be dispensed, and, typically, an electrically-driven dispensing means (5) for the liquid, the mother unit (2) or refill unit (3) comprising extending angular arms (18) at corner junctions of the rear wall (11) and each side wall (13) of said unit, these arms (18) tapering as they extend outwards and being designed to fit into corresponding recesses (25,26) in the other of the two units (2,3), and one of the two units (2,3) comprising a spline (15,16 orl9) extending from its front surface designed to fit into a corresponding slot (25,26 or27) in the front surface (4,7) of the other of the two units (2,3). The resulting device is extremely robust when assembled and yet still has a refill unit (3) that is light and easy to replace.
