PURPOSE: A display device is provided to prevent the problem of a user not being able to see an image even though the user wears polarized sun glasses. CONSTITUTION: A backlight unit is located in a lower part of a display panel(160). Polarization plates(200, 210) are located on the display panel. The polarization plates includes PVA(Poly-Vinyl-Alcohol) layers(203, 213) and a PET(Polyethylen Terephthalate) layer(217). The PVA layer linearly polarizes the light from the backlight unit. The PET layer is located on the PVA layer. The linearly polarized light is converted into elliptically polarized light using the PET layer.
