<p>A method and apparatus for accessing data storage device are provided by the embodiments of the present invention. The method includes: receiving the formatting command of a File Allocation Table (FAT) file system; obtaining the first sector information corresponding to the Main Boot Record (MBR) partition, the second sector information corresponding to the hidden partition, and the third sector information corresponding to the FAT partition according to the correspondence between areas of the data storage device and sector information; performing formatting operations on sectors identified by said first sector information, said second sector information and said third sector information. Because of performing the formatting on the hidden sector in the data storage device, the embodiments of the present invention can effectively use the hidden partition formed after formatting to perform data storage, thereby improving the data storage efficiency of the data storage device.</p> |
