PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve printing quality by uniformizing liquid discharge characteristics of liquid discharged from nozzle row groups.SOLUTION: The liquid ejecting apparatus comprises: a liquid reservoir unit in which the liquid is stored; a liquid ejecting head 20 provided with a plurality of nozzle rows 32 each having nozzle openings 31 juxtaposed for ejecting the liquid; a supply channel 51 for supplying the liquid to the liquid ejecting head from the liquid reservoir unit; a collecting channel 52 in which the liquid is collected in the liquid reservoir unit from the liquid ejecting head; and a suction pump provided in the collecting channel and sucking the liquid inside the liquid ejecting head. The liquid ejecting head is provided with a plurality of circulation channels 42 for communicating the supply channel with the collecting channel to communicate with each of the nozzle row groups. Each circulation channel includes: a valve element 44 provided upstream side of a connecting part 41 communicated with each nozzle row group and opening and closing each circulation channel; and a film 47 for closing each circulation channel, being displaced to the circulation channel side based on negative pressure and the atmospheric pressure acting on each circulation channel downstream of the valve element, and opening each circulation channel by transmitting the displacement to the valve element in order to move the valve element. |
