PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by efficiently dissipating heat generated in an optical transmission part.SOLUTION: An optical communication module includes: an optical transmission part 12 including a light emitting element and a TEC controlling the temperature of the light emitting element; an optical reception part 14 including a light receiving element; a housing 10 which is spaced between the optical transmission part and the optical reception part by a gap 11, and houses the optical transmission part and the optical reception part side by side; a metallic plate 18 which is provided in the gap and extends from between the optical transmission part and the housing to a portion between the optical reception part and the housing; a first connection material 20 which is provided between the optical reception part as well as the optical reception part and the metallic plate, and has a lower thermal conductivity than that of the metallic plate, extending from between the optical transmission part and the housing to the portion between the optical reception part and the housing; and a second connection material 22 which is provided between the housing and the metallic plate, and has a lower thermal conductivity than that of the metallic plate, extending from between the optical transmission part and the housing to the portion between the optical reception part and the housing. In the optical communication module, the optical transmission part and the optical reception part are thermally connected to the housing via the first connection material, the metallic plate, and the second connection material. |
