PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the processing of a cylinder and the installation of a fixing piston, in a linearly moving fuel injection valve for restraining a quantity of fuel leaking between an oil-sealed chamber and a high pressure fuel passage in valve opening operation. SOLUTION: A needle piston 132 is inserted into a cylinder 23 driven by a piezoelectric actuator 14, and the fixing piston 22 is inserted, and the oil-sealed chamber 27 is formed between the needle piston 132 and the fixing piston 22. A nozzle needle 13 is driven by changing the volume of the oil-sealed chamber 27 by the expansion of the piezoelectric actuator 14. The fixed piston 22 is also positioned and held on a fixing plate 21 by a holding spring 26, and since a degree of freedom in its peripheral direction and the radial direction is imparted to the fixing piston 22, the fixing piston 22 is installed by following a hole position of the cylinder 23.
