<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interface device which is high in operability, and a program therefor. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU 14 stores, in a work area 31, item-position information which represents the display positions on a screen of multiple kinds of items to be displayed on a monitor 6, and displays the items on the display positions on the monitor 6 in accordance with the item-position information. The CPU 14 receives, from a mouse 8, pointer-position information which represents the moving direction and movement amount of a pointer and displays a movable pointer P1 on the monitor 6. The CPU 14 correlates item-intermittent sounds, which have peculiar item-intermittent frequencies 305 or peculiar item-intermittent sound volumes 307 for each item, with the items, respectively, and then stores the sounds concerned in an item table 301. The CPU 14 outputs the item-intermittent sounds correlated with the items.
