<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for improving measuring precision for outside temperature and humidity while arranging a temperature and humidity sensor inside the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A copying machine which measures the outside temperature and humidity and carries out control regarding image formation according to these measurements includes two vent openings 113a, 113b formed on an exterior cover 111 for covering a frame and the temperature and humidity sensor for detecting the outside temperature and the humidity in a gap between the frame and the exterior cover 111 is provided between the two vent openings 113a, 113b (on the frame side facing a region 112a in the exterior cover 111).
