PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver capable of maintaining stored information on a tuner irrespective of a use state. SOLUTION: The broadcast receiver 1 has: a TV tuner 10 which receives a broadcast wave; TV utilization information 12A which is the operation setting of the TV tuner 10; a communication part 13 for communicating with a PC2; a storage part 12 which stores use authentication information 12B used for the authentication of a user; and a user authentication part 11 which collates information on the user inputted from the outside with the user authentication information 12A in the storage part 12 to permit the rewrite of the TV utilization information 12B to the PC2 only when the information on the user matches the user authentication information.
