PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an event detection system, an event detection method, and a program, which improve a user's convenience and productivity. SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus (event detection system) 1 includes: a plurality of virtual machine units 11a to 11c for achieving virtual execution environments 110a to 110c; an event detection unit 24 for detecting an event having occurred in the virtual execution environment; and a display control unit 26 which, if an event having occurred in a virtual execution environment that the user is not using currently is detected by the event detection unit 24, allows event information related to the event having occurred in the virtual execution environment to be presented in a virtual execution environment that the user is using currently.
