The function module (100), for a surgical instrument, has a hollow shaft (102) with a manual rotating mechanism (112) at the proximal end. A nipper unit (104) is at the distal end with two claws (106,108) with relative movement operated by a rod (116) within the shaft. The proximal end of the shaft has rotation and is axially fixed in a module housing (110). A cutting blade is at the claws, with an axial sliding movement through an operating rod (126). A gearing (158,159) is in the module housing for the cutting blade trigger (114) to move a sliding sleeve (156) at a radial pin (152) in an axial slit (154) to move the cutter rod.
