The device has an upper lift car (A1) and a lower lift car (A2) movable independently along a vertical direction in a common lift shaft of a multi-mobile lift system (10). A detector (22) of an electro-optical detection system is provided with a light-sensitive sensor area in an upper area of the lower car. A light source of the detection system emits a bundled light beam in an angle (W1) with respect to a vertical direction. The angle is provided in such a manner that the light beam strikes the sensor area and is detectable through the detector during an approach of the cars. |
