A console arm rest for a vehicle fixed by tongs is provided to reduce a number of elements and simplify an assembly process by constraining an arm rest cover with tongs. A console arm rest for a vehicle fixed by tongs comprises an arm rest cover(3), and a fixing member(4). The arm rest cover of which one end is hinged to an arm rest body(1) by an arm rest hinge(2) to be folded upward from the arm rest body. The fixing member has tongs(7), a hinge pin(6), a spring(10), and a fastening plate(5). The tongs are exposed on the arm rest cover so as to allow a user to grasp and operate. The hinge pin forms a hinge point where left and right tongs levers(8,9) are worked as the tongs. The pair of left and right tongs levers form the tongs. The spring is installed around the hinge pin to generate elastic restoring force when loosening the tongs. The fastening plate is protruded from the arm rest body, on which two parts of the tongs are fastened to lock the arm rest cover. |
