METHOD FOR HAND-OFF BETWEEN HETEROGENEOUS NETWORKS AND SYSTEM THEREOF

A handoff method between different networks and its system are provided to allow different network access systems to store and maintain network access setting or QoS(Quality of Service) information used for transmitting data to a terminal to support seamless handoff therebetween. An ASN(Access Service Network)-WiMax(Worldwide interoperability for Microwave Access)(301) connects the Internet(330) and a WiMax network(340) to an ASN to exchange high speed packet data with a BS(Base Station)-WiMax(302). The BS-WiMax transmits user data received via the ASN-WiMax to a terminal(310) and transfers user data received from the terminal to the ASN-WiMax. A data interface(306) interfaces between the ASN-WiMax and the BS-WiMax. An interface(307) interfaces a control signal. A PDSN(Packet Data Service Node)(303) connects the Internet and a 1xEVDO(Evolution Data Only) network(350). A PCF(Packet Control Function)(304) controls an access network(305). The access network transmits user data received via the PDSN and the PCF to a terminal(320) and transfers data received from the terminal to the PCF.
