EYE PART DETECTION DEVICE, EYE PART DETECTION METHOD AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device detecting an eye part from a face image with high accuracy even when wearing makeup or the like.

SOLUTION: This eye part detection device has: an image input part 21 for acquiring the face image; an eyelid edge labeling part 24 for detecting an upper eyelid candidate and a lower eyelid candidate fit for prescribed conditions of an upper eyelid or a lower eyelid from the face image; and an eyelid decision part 27 for comparing combinations of the upper eyelid candidates and the lower eyelid candidates, and deciding the combination wherein relation between the upper eyelid candidate and the lower eyelid candidate is fittest for the prescribed conditions as the upper eyelid and the lower eyelid. The eyelid edge labeling part 24 classifies the upper eyelid candidate and the lower eyelid candidate by a degree fit for the prescribed conditions among horizontal edges and vertical edges calculated by an edge calculation part 23. The eye part detection device can have a lower eyelid candidate evaluation part 26 excluding the lower eyelid candidate when at least one horizontal edge is present in a right and left direction of the lower eyelid candidate. The eye part detection device can have a lower eyelid candidate classification part 25 classifying the lower eyelid candidate wherein its vertical edge does not satisfy the prescribed conditions among the lower eyelid candidates as a lower eyelid auxiliary candidate.
