METHOD FOR CALCULATING PLAYING TIME OF BROADCASTING MEDIA, AND TERMINAL FOR THE SAME

A method for calculating reproduction time of a broadcast media and a terminal for the same are provided to estimate a current reproduction time at a read point that is a reproduction time point of a present broadcast media. The number of data corresponding to a decoding unit of a broadcast media is accumulated(S11). The accumulated result is divided by the number of frames reproduced in a unit time when the broadcast media is reproduced, so that the total reproduction time for the broadcast media is calculated. The number of data corresponding to the decoding unit is accumulated during the recording of broadcast media. A parameter corresponding to the accumulation result is stored(S13). A current reproduction time is calculated at a present reproduction point by using an amount of previously decoded data for an accumulated amount of buffered data.
