An apparatus for manufacturing a flat panel display is provided to prevent airtightness from being leaked by forming a reinforcing unit for distributing a stress which is applied to a sealing plate. An apparatus for manufacturing a flat panel display includes a chamber(110), and a gate valve having a sealing plate(120). An aperture is formed on a side or both sides of the chamber(110). The sealing plate(120) closes or opens the aperture. The sealing plate(120) has a reinforcing unit(122) which prevents occurrence of a leak by preventing a change due to a pressure difference of an inner/outer part when the chamber(110) is sealed. The reinforcing unit(122) is formed on a contact plane or a rear plane of the sealing plate(120) which is contacted with the chamber(110). The reinforcing unit (122) is formed on an edge of the sealing plate(120) which is contacted with the chamber(110). |
