<p>The converter (10), for a protection unit control signal, is formed to receive as an input signal (12) a control signal of a control unit (16) of a vehicle's safety system for a first protection unit type with first control requirements, and to analyze the input signal and depending upon the analysis to generate a control signal which is suitable for controlling a second protection unit type with control requirements which deviate from the first protection unit type, and to transmit this signal as an output signal (20). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a control unit for controlling a protection unit for a vehicle's safety system, including a converter in order to be able to control a protection unit of the second protection unit type; (2) a reversible protection unit (18) with the aforesaid converter; (3) a device for controlling a protection unit of a vehicle's safety system; and (4) a method for controlling a protection unit of a vehicle's safety system.</p> |
