A frame 2, including a load support 11, is provided with an arm formed with tracks which are supported by rollers of a bogie 3, whereby the frame is linearly displaceable relative to the bogie 3, the bogie being supported for rotation about a vertical axis by an arm of a support frame 1. In the embodiment shown, the frame 2 is moved relative to the bogie 3 by an hydraulic motor 9 and a chain and sprocket drive 10. The bogie 3 is supported by a thrust bearing 5 on a bogie 4 which is movable along the arm of the frame 1 by an hydraulic ram 8. An hydraulic motor 6 and gear assembly 7 is provided to rotate the bogie 3. The frame 1 is supported for rotation about a vertical axis on the lifting carriage of a lift truck. In a second embodiment, Figs. 4-6 (not shown), the bogie 3 is not mounted for movement along the arm of the frame 1. The load support may be a coil-supporting prong 11, vertically adjustable in the frame 2, or a fork. The frame 1 may be pivotally mounted about a horizontal axis on the lifting carriage of a lift truck, or may be mounted on tractor lift arms, or may form part of a fixed installation. |
