The cylinder head has a precut steel plate comprising ends (6a, 6b) formed of concave parts (8) and protrusions (7) respectively. Each part (8) has a lower wall facing a distal end of each protrusion, and axially spaced lateral walls extending from ends of the lower wall. Each protrusion has lateral walls with a length equal or less than an entrance width of each part (8). The lateral walls of each part (8) have notches (9) in which localized expanded parts are adjusted, when a caulking press work is executed on the lateral walls of each protrusion. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a cylinder head of a rotating machine.
