Each individual cell has its own measurement module with the modules connected in series so that the output of one is the input to the next. Depending on operation mode the output of one cell is summed with the output of the next cell to give a voltage total for the cell series or comparison between cells can be carried out if it is desired to find the cell producing greatest or least voltage etc.
