PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method and toner not degrading the toner image transfer efficiency to the recording medium and not damaging a photoreceptor when repeatedly using a 2 components developer, and to provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The linear pressure of the contact charge transfer means to the image carrier is≥30 g/cm but≤500 g/cm in the state that a recording medium or an intermediate transfer means is placed in the transfer section. The developer is a 2 components developer having toner and a carrier, and the carrier contains fine carrier of≤1/5 times as large as the average carrier by 5% in amount. Further, the image carrier has a photosensitive layer on the conductive substrate, and the elastic deformation workload We is 40-70% in a test which pushes it in 1μm deep on the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor in a certain environment (22.5°C/50%RH).
