PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set differential magnetic changes between a pair of magnetoelectric elements in such a way as to steeply change in the vicinity of a zero level by devising the shape of a protrusion part provided for a soft magnetic moving body opposed to the pair of magnetoelectric elements and further suppress deviations in detected angles caused by deviations in the arrangement of each part, and to improve detection precision. SOLUTION: This apparatus for detecting moving bodies comprises Hall elements 1 and 2 as the pair of magnetoelectric elements opposed to the soft magnetic moving body provided with the protrusion part 21A and a biasing permanent magnet 30 for supplying a biased magnetic flux for the pair of Hall elements 1 and 2. This apparatus is set in such a way that the relation L2>L1 may hold when the width of the surface of the protrusion part 21A opposed to the pair of Hall elements 1 and 2 is L1, and the arrangement pitch of the pair of Hall elements 1 and 2 is L2.
