PURPOSE: A method for collecting speed information per section of a dedicated short range communication is provided to collect speed information per section from information received by a present road side unit and distance between road side units and data base, without storing the previous information of an on-board unit or scanning them. CONSTITUTION: An on-board unit(20) meets the first road side equipment R1(10) and receives a road side equipment ID and a passing time, and meets the second road side equipment R2(30) and transmits the road side equipment ID and the passing time of the first road side equipment R1 and an on-board unit ID to the second road side equipment R2. The second road side equipment R2 transmits R1_ID, R1_passing time, R2_ID, R2_passing time and the on-board unit ID to a traffic information server(40). Then, the traffic information server calculates the time for the on-board unit to pass a period(R1-R2) with the R1_passing time and the R2_passing time, and calculates speed information of the period(R1-R2) by scanning a section distance from the road side equipment distance_database.
