<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a lithium tantalate crystal having improved electroconductivity, that is based on the principal that the surface charge generated by imparting a temperature change to the lithium tantalate crystal is dissipated without accumulating the generated surface charge by enhancing the electroconductivity of the lithium tantalate crystal. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing a specific lithium tantalate crystal, the electroconductivity of the lithium tantalate crystal is increased by bringing a substance, previously subjected to reduction treatment at a high temperature, into contact with the crystal at a lower temperature under a reducing atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
