The procedure for making a photo-crystalline optical fibre (F1) comprising a core and a sleeve, consists of producing the sleeve by simultaneous injection of a first liquid polymer precursor compound (A) that can be hardened by UV radiation through a first series of holes in an injection plate (4), and a second compound (B) that is non-reactive to UV radiation through a second series of holes. The holes in the second series have a period disposition and are surrounded by holes from the first series. The injected flow of the two compounds is subjected to UV radiation, with the contact between the compounds being less than one second. The optical fibre core is made by injecting a third liquid compound through a separate central hole in the plate. The third compound is hardened by UV radiation and is preferably identical to the first compound. |
