PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for grasping the conditions of a vehicle when and just before a traffic accident has occurred in an intersection and for automatically recording the accident. SOLUTION: Road side communication equipment are set in the neighborhood of an intersection entrance of each traffic lane, and the code and the number of each electronic license plate of vehicles entering from each traffic lane to the intersection are read, and reported to a recording controller. A speed/distance detecting device is set at the upper part of the intersection exit of each traffic lane, and a distance between the vehicle entering from each traffic lane to the intersection and the preceding vehicle after its entry and their speeds are detected and reported to the recording controller. A signal controller reports a signal switching timing to the recording controller. The recording controller stores various information reported from each device with time.
