The float consists of hollow or solid ball (1) of plastic or other material, traversed by a stem (2) of plastic, bamboo or balsa wood that passes through its central or lower section, so that the ball lies flat on water and moves into a vertical position when a fish takes baited hook (8). The two projecting ends of the stem have sliders (3) fitted with weights (4) to adjust position of float.
