PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light converging mirror which expands a detection area and is made small-sized and a detecting device using the same. SOLUTION: Provided are a plurality of mirror parts MA1 to MA6 which have light reflecting surfaces close to toric surfaces and whose concave surfaces are continuously varied in curvature to converge light reflected by each concave surface on one of focuses of an ellipse. The mirror parts MA1 to MA6 are in shapes of nearly isosceles triangles viewed from the normal direction (the direction perpendicular to the paper surface in the figure) of a photodetection surface of a photodetector that a sensor part S is equipped with, and also arranged so that vertexes that two equal sides form abut against each other. Consequently, the entire detection area can be expanded and the constitution can be made small-sized as usual by forming a plurality of curtain-shaped detection areas by radially and adjacently arranging the plurality of mirror parts MA1 to MA6 having the light reflecting surfaces close to toric surfaces.
