PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply electric power of a corresponding voltage after distinguish ing the kind of an expansion bay.

SOLUTION: A CPU 2003 recognizes that an expansion bay is mounted by a presence signal input through a connecting terminal 102a, and receives an ID signal input after that. The CPU 2003 distinguishes the kind of the expansion bay connected from the ID signal by using a table stored in a memory 2004 beforehand, and outputs a power source output of the voltage corresponding to the expansion bay recognized to the expansion bay which is mounted from the connecting terminal 102a by controlling a power circuit 2001. The devices and the methods can be applied to a connecting terminal of a bay slot for a personal computer.
