PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for optically measuring a skinfold fat thickness capable of measuring the skinfold fat thickness with good reproducibility and high accuracy and an apparatus used for the same.

SOLUTION: An organism surface 1 is flat molded by a molding section 10 and while the pressure to be exerted to the organism is measured by a pressure measuring section 15, the light entering the inside of the organism from a light source 11 arranged on the organism surface 1 and returning again to the organism surface is received by a photodetecting section 12.
