PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an epoxy resin composition rapidly curable with a cationic polymerization initiator, and its cured product is excellent in heat resistance and low is ionic impurities. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin composition contains, as essential components, an alicyclic epoxy resin obtained by nuclearly hydrogenating a biphenol-A type epoxy resin and the cationic polymerization initiator.
