PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock for a fixing device making it easy for a helper to fix a wheelchair in place when placing the wheelchair in a vehicle, while avoiding operations uncomfortable to the wheelchair rider, such as putting hands between his or her feet during the fixing operation. SOLUTION: The lock 6 for the fixing device of the type mounted under the floor has belts at its front and rear for retaining at their ends the lock locked to the wheelchair. At least one of the belts is a length-adjustable belt that can be freely drawn out and wound by a belt storage means. The length- adjustable belt is held locked by operation of an operating lever. The lock 6 has a plurality of latching portions 6b to 6e one of which is retained by the front belt 3. and the rear belt 5 and latched to the wheelchair. The lock 6 retained by both belts 3 and 5 can be latched in place from behind the inside of the wheelchair C in a single operation, for ease of operation. Further, this can be achieved simply by the operation of hooking from behind, so the need for the operation of extending one's hands below the crotch of the person riding the wheelchair C is eliminated.
