PURPOSE: A tailgate for a vehicle is provided to prevent breakage of the tailgate in opening the tailgate by dividing the tailgate into an upper tailgate and a lower tailgate, and by turning the lower tailgate around the upper tailgate. CONSTITUTION: A tailgate of a vehicle is composed of an upper tailgate(3) combined with the vehicle body by a first hinge, and a lower tailgate(7) combined with the upper tailgate by a second hinge. A first pinion(9) is installed in the first hinge not to turn around the first hinge, and a second pinion(11) is mounted in the second hinge not to turn around the second hinge against the lower tailgate. A link unit connects the first pinion and the second pinion with a rack. The rear part of the vehicle is opened with turning the upper tailgate and the lower tailgate around the first hinge in opening the tailgate. Breakage is prevented with restricting the tailgate from bumping into the ceiling in opening the tailgate. |
