PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate a volume measurement error produced by difference in surface area between a standard object and a measured object used for calibration when measuring volume of a complex-shaped object in the air by using an acoustic volumeter. SOLUTION: The acoustic volumeter comprises a reference vessel, a measuring vessel, a speaker alternately giving variety in volume to inside of these two vessels, and two microphones detecting internal sound pressure of the two vessels to measure volume of an object in the measuring vessel from amplitude ratio of the detected sound pressure, compensating an error in surface area by using phase shift of the two detected sound pressure.
