PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of the return performance of an accelerator pedal when one of restoring force generating means is broken without increasing the number of restoring force generating means. SOLUTION: A hysteresis generating block 44 generates a hysteresis only when two spring supports 38 and 40 are excited by coil springs 30 and 32 respectively. When one of the coil springs is broken, one spring support excited by the remaining coil spring excites a pedal support shaft 12 in the recovering direction, and the hysteresis generating block 44 is moved downward, and no hysteresis is generated.
