PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an automatic gain controller which controls sound volume level so as to be matched with audibility without any manual control by automatically controlling the sound volume level by a correction table and arithmetic processing. SOLUTION: The automatic gain controller which performs automatic control of the output of a sound signal to be matched with the audibility is provided with a peak detection means 1 for detecting the peak of an inputted sound signal, a peak appearance rate calculation means 2 for calculating a peak relative frequency of the sound signal, an average level calculation means 3 to calculate the average level of the sound signal, a sound volume control quantity calculating means 4 for calculating the sound volume level control quantity of the sound signal from the peak appearance rate the average level by using a peak incidence/audibility level table in which the audibility level of the sound signal is contrasted with the peak appearance rate and a peak value setting means 5 for controlling the peak of the sound signal according to the control quantity of sound volume levels. |
