PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch the map of a particular road to the map of general roads or vice versa. SOLUTION: When new words for the entrance of a particular road are received by a GPS reception device 1 and a vehicle is traveling on a speedway, an information processing part 10 judges that the travel on the particular road has ended on receiving a signal indicative of the exit of the particular road. When map information from a map information storage device 3 and the current position, advancing direction, and advancing speed of the vehicle transmitted from the GPS reception device 1 meet the requirements for the particular road, the information processing part 10 judges that the vehicle is traveling on the particular road; when the requirements for the particular road are not met, it judges that the vehicle is traveling on a general road. Based on the determination, a control process part 10 reads the map of the particular road or the general road from the map information storage device 3 for display on a display device 20. |
